Smoked: Make This Your 2018 Story
There once was a speedy hare who bragged all the time about how fast he could run to everyone. Tired of hearing him boast, Slow and Steady, the tortoise, challenged him to have a race one day. All the animals in the forest gathered to watch the big event, and a second speedy hare saw the gathering and asked to join the race.
The first Hare ran down the road for a while and then and stopped to rest. He looked back at Slow and Steady and yelled out, “How can you win this race when you are walking along at your slow, slow pace?” Hare lied down alongside the road and fell asleep, saying, “There is plenty of time to relax.” But Hare forgot about the second Hare. The second Hare ran, and ran, and ran. He didn’t stop, and he kept running.
Eventually, Slow and Steady walked and he never stopped until he came to the finish line.
The animals who were watching were glad to see Tortoise finish and began to make noise, and they woke up the first Hare. The first Hare yawned and began to run again, but it was too late because the race was over: Tortoise was over the line.
But Tortoise did not win the race. The second Hare had finished a long time ago and SMOKED both of them. The second Hare even circled round and round lapping both the sleeping Hare and the Tortoise.
It is good to be steady, but fast and steady will always beat slow and steady. Be the Tortoise AND the Hare.
