Get in Position to Prosper

There’s an old saying that I used to use that looks like this, “When opportunity knocks on your door you need to let it in for dinner.” I say old because the new saying looks like this, “We create the knock.” Last week I hosted Little Big Town drummer Hubert Payne on my show to discuss “The Performance Moment” which consists of where timing, luck, preparation, and opportunity all intersect. You’ve heard the saying, “The harder I work the luckier I get” right? It occurred to me that many never “position” themselves close to opportunity. They’re always on the “outside” looking in. They won’t spend the time and energy to get proximity to prosperity. It’s like their on the bench or in the dugout begging not to be called into the game. One of the first rules of success is simple, “get around it.”
