The Freedom to Be YOU – Jerry Fetta
Freedom literally means “not in bondage”. We’ve covered this before but I want to refresh it. Today I’m going to address how not being financially free is a form of bondage. But I want to focus on an angle you may not yet have considered before.
What would life look like it you acted 100% on self-determinism? Self-determinism means that every present condition of our lives is a result of the effects we caused with previous states of our lives. It means that we control and cause our outcomes and we are not influenced by the agendas of others. Right now, we don’t have that. Think about it. As soon as we are cognitive as children we are put in school. Nothing against learning, but school was not our idea and the things we learn in school are not being taught because we deemed them valuable. They are being taught because the people who invented school and want us attending deemed them valuable. Why? Because it fits into their plan for our lives. Every progression of our lives afterward stems from this outside influence. You go to school so you can get good grades, so you can go to college, so you can get a job, so you can earn income, so you can pay for the things you’ve been taught to pay for, so you can hopefully participate in another outside idea called retirement. Step back and ask yourself: “Was this my idea?” The answer is no and this leads us to the next question: “Is this what I want?” 7 years ago I could not answer “yes” to that question.
Your life should be a reflection of you. If you participate in this system because you deem it necessary to survive, even though it wasn’t your idea and you don’t want to, you are actually suppressing your own identity and existence. I know that seems like a large leap, but follow with me here. Your identity, who you decide to BE, will create what you decide to do. You will do things you like because you will do things that align with who you are. The things you do will create the things you have and the cycle will continue. So, to say “my identity is _________” and then to subsequently go do something you do not want or agree with, is to literally suppress yourself as a being and force yourself into something that invalidates who you are and what you desire for your life. This is bondage in every sense of the word. And it is a bondage to which we hold the keys to freedom. The highest form of slavery is the slavery that prevents you from embody the fundamental qualities of your own human existence.
Take control of your money. By taking control of your money, you can buy back your freedom. Do you see how this is starting to sound more and more like a form of slavery? A slave cannot get free from the master unless the slave’s freedom is paid for. You must have enough money to survive on so you can trade that money in return for your time and no longer have to do things that you do not want and do not agree with. Financial freedom is the key to important things like comfort, traveling, giving, and many other things. But at its foundation, financial freedom is the only way to break the chains that suppress who you really are and the potential greatness you are capable of.
I want to help you put a formula on paper to get free. You need a map to help you get to your destination and you need someone in your corner to hold you accountable to being the best version of yourself possible when you cannot do it for yourself. That is what I do. Confront your situation, unlock your chains, and go own your potential. Click here to get started.
