Have you ever heard or had someone say to you “I’ll get to it when I’ll get to it?” You are managing a company, a department, or a division, you are managing yourself and your own activities or maybe it’s your kids and your kids says “I’ll get to it when I get to it.” No you won’t, you won’t get to it when you get to it. You are never going to get to it.
Because the person that says “I’ll get to it when I Get to it.” is saying – “Hey I put everything off, I procrastinate, I don’t move fast I’m overwhelmed, I can’t get to it when I get to it because I can’t even handle what I have to already.” Let’s face it this person that says “I’ll get to it when I get to it” is overwhelmed, he has a bunch of other tasks that have all stacked up on this cat, and now he can’t get to any of them. You know how you handle that is by saying “Give it to me, I’ll handle it”.
And handle it right now, the way to get more done, just get more done, quit stacking it up on yourself. Quit lying to yourself I’ll get to it when I get to it. You are telling yourself I’ll get to it when I get to it, even when you are talking to your manager you are talking to yourself saying “I can’t get to it yet.” So what do you want to do say “Leave it with me man I’ll get it handled.” And see how fast you can get it done, I guarantee this will help you with your sense of overwhelm.
